The need for environmental information was constantly stressed and ways of exchanging information discussed. A demonstration of a pilot project of the International Referral Service is described and the next steps in its development are indicated. The concluding remarks are concerned with the role of environmental information and education in the United Nations Environment Programme. (Author/JAB)
