All aspects of the black experience, including history, culture, health, education, economic status, and literature are covered. There are four sections to this work: (1) a simple listing of the many bibliographies emanating from the Council of Planning Librarians in Monticello, Illinois; (2) an annotated listing of separately published bibliographies which comprises the major segment of the text; (3) an alphabetical listing by author of journal articles determined to be primarily bibliographic in nature; and (4) a listing of bibliographies which were identified but not actually examined by the compilers of this publication.
