| contents | Safety in the School Science Laboratory: Instructor's Resource Guide. Guides Inservice Education Inservice Teacher Education Laboratory Safety Safety Science Education Science Laboratories Science Teachers Secondary School Teachers Training This publication presents a suggested inservice training program for safety in the laboratory for secondary school science teachers. It consists of three parts. Part one discusses administrative guidelines. Part two consists of 14 lesson plans for lectures in the training course for teachers. Each of these lesson plans consists of an overview, table of contents, and text in a script format. Most of these also have reference citations and a slide script. Each lecture lesson plan is complete and independent of the others to facilitate changes in the desired sequence. Part three has four workshop lesson plans for the course. Each workshop consists of a lesson plan with overview, listing of contents, text in script format, exhibits for background or reference, and worksheets for exercises. Directions are also provided. Each workshop is tied to a lecture lesson. Five appendices are presented at the end of the publication: (1) Audio-Visuals; (2) Library Resources; (3) Dictionary of Resources; (4) Program Evaluation; and (5) Trainee Evaluation. (HM) |
