Reports given during the business meeting include those from the Librarian of Congress, the ARL executive director, joint ARL/CRL committee on a national periodical lending library, the committee on preservation of research library materials, and the Office of Management Studies, as well as a special report from the NCES Library Services Branch and remarks by both the outgoing president and the president-elect. Recommendations on criteria for ARL membership, final report of the ARL task force--NEH Research Tools program, the sixth annual report of Office of University Library Management Studies and a list of ARL officers, board of directors, committees, and membership conclude the report.
