Black Colleges Black Students Community Colleges Consortia Desegregation Effects Equalization Aid Higher Education Institutional Cooperation Integration Studies Minority Groups Racial Integration Resource Allocation State Aid State Colleges State Programs State Universities Statewide Planning Student Financial Aid Tables (Data) Actions of the Maryland Council for Higher Education (MCHE) with respect to desegregation of public higher education, information concerning funds and personnel appropriated for the implementation of Maryland's desegregation plan, selected comparative data, and desegregation status by institution are reported. Among the MCHE desegregation activities summarized are: Other Race Grants Program for Graduate and Professional School Students; Minority/Other-Race Internship Program; Faculty and Administrator Exchange Program; Study of Retention and Progression of Full-Time, First Year Undergraduate Students by Race; Study of the Impact of the Academic Program Offerings on the Racial Composition of Student Enrollment; and Consortium for Inter-Institutional Programs. The MCHE, state colleges and universities, and community colleges are included in the report on desegregation appropriations. Selected comparative data rank some Maryland colleges and universities according to net assignable square feet per full-time day equivalent, student/faculty ratio per full-time equivalent, instruction cost per FTE, and total library holdings per FTE. Information on student composition, financial aid, employment composition, administrative coordination, and program cooperation are included in the desegregation status reports by institution. Appended to the report are nearly 20 items concerning desegregation efforts in Marvland. (JMD)
