Attitudes Community Surveys Library Facilities Library Research Library Surveys Public Libraries Questionnaires Tables (Data) Use Studies Sample selection methodology and findings are described for a telephone survey of residents of the six Hawaiian Islands to identify library users and their characteristics as well as patterns of use. Findings are reported for demographic patterns of use, user and non-user attitudes, leisure time activities, levels of awareness and interests in specific library services, knowledge of branch locations, interests in operational services, areas of needed improvement, and Oahu-neighboring island differences. Appendices include cross tabulations of data by areas and the questionnaire instrument. (CMV)
