  • Colorado Public Library Statistics, 1977/78: Including Statistical Summaries. Academic Libraries Comparative Analysis Income Library Expenditures Public Libraries Statistical Data Trend Analysis Public library statistical data for the state of Colorado is presented in tabular form for seven general interest areas: per capita circulation, per capita volumes available, salaries as a percent of total expense, library material as a percent of total expense, income from local sources as a percent of total income, income from the state as a percent of total income, and other income as a percent of total income. The method of least squares was applied to data that was available from each library for 1973 through 1977 to determine trend lines. Then projections through 1982 were made to give indicators of what would happen if the events of the past five years were to continue for the next five years. The trend lines can be used as a standard of comparison between individual libraries and the statewide value and between libraries serving populations of the same size in the state. Public library statistics for 1976 and 1977 for services, collections, expenditures, and income; 1975-1976 academic library statistics; and 1975 institutional library statistics are appended.
