Most of the entries are books, pamphlets, or periodicals published during the 1960s and 1970s. Each citation gives title, author, publisher and date, page length, price, and a brief annotation. Entries are categorized in 15 groups: archaeology, bibliographies and buying lists, collective biography, description and travel, directories, fine arts, government and economics, Great Lakes, history, Indians, laws, maps and atlases, natural resources and nature, periodicals, and statistics. The directories cover a range of content including facilities for the mentally retarded, camps for children, private schools, civil rights agencies, and institutions of higher education. Entries under government and economics include sources about local as well as state political structures. Topics of periodicals include family history, agriculture, and industry. (AV)
