- Access to Knowledge. Volume II. Data Collection and Analysis: An Appendix to The Report of the Florida Commission on Educational Outreach and Service. Access to Education Adult Education Adult Educators Adult Students Adults College Administration Community Leaders Data Analysis Data Collection Learning Activities Needs Assessment Outreach Programs Postsecondary Education Program Effectiveness Sampling State Surveys Tables (Data) This appendix gives a detailed explanation of how data was collected in a Florida statewide study designed primarily to determine the degree and type (or desired degree and type) of adult participation in learning activities. The sections in the report are descriptive in nature, and a major portion of the material is comprised of tables, interview schedules, questionnaires, and other exhibits. The report is divided into five major sections. Section 1 presents the methodology for the population survey and includes the sample design, interviewing techniques, and findings. Sections 2 and 3 describe the surveys of selected public and private organizational leaders to determine current and future instructional needs and to assess research and other service outreach. Section 4 briefly reviews the College and University Presidents' Outreach Inventory. The final section examines the contents and results of the questionnaires developed to obtain student and faculty evaluations and recommendations concerning library services. (To understand the data presented in this appendix, the reader must consult Volume I, "Access to Knowledge," which is also in the ERIC system--see note.) (CSS)
