In terms of student characteristics, it was found that: the percentage of women students had increased to 56%; about one-third of the students had attended another college previously; 75% of the students were working, with 20% working 40 hours or more; about 30% spent 20 hours or more per week in meeting home responsibilities; 62% of the males and 43% of the females were preparing to transfer to a four-year college; evening and weekend students were more interested in developing job-related skills; less than half intended to complete an associate degree; and business related programs were most popular. Attitudes regarding services showed that: Saturday and Sunday afternoons were the preferred weekend hours for the library; half of the respondents were interested in using a mathematics laboratory, one-third in a writing lab, and 30% in a reading lab; and 83% of the evening students felt the services they needed were available. Interest in career programs focused on building technology and automotive technology for males and social services and health technology for females.
