These objectives are presented in two groups: those for national action--dealing with the requirements of NATIS, the planning of NATIS, and universal bibliographic control in relation to NATIS--and those for international action. The document also provides a general background on planning for an "improved society," describes the purposes and aims of the Conference, and reproduces the two recommendations (of 24 adopted at the Conference) that are concerned with the launching of NATIS.
