Adult Education Annual Reports College Students Compensatory Education Cultural Education Educational Finance Educational Legislation Elementary Secondary Education Environmental Education Equal Education Exceptional Child Education Federal Aid Higher Education Multicultural Education Postsecondary Education School Desegregation Vocational Rehabilitation Presented in this document are brief reports on different aspects of educational finance, elementary and secondary education programs, advances made in higher and professional education, services in cultural education, and changing needs in vocational rehabilitation. An overview of Federal aid to education, the economic impact of education, adult learning services, a statistical profile, and significant 1978 educational legislation is provided. Programs in elementary and secondary education reported on include the New York City Project, Elementary Secondary Education Act funding, racial integration, programs for gifted and talented students, education of the handicapped, migrant programs, and multicultural education. Advances in higher and professional education reported on include services for nontraditional students, professional licensing and conduct, aid to independent colleges, equal access programs, aid to students, and assuring educational quality. Services in cultural education referred to include science, library and museum services. (EB)
