Arranged alphabetically by the names of the individuals and organizations donating the materials, the shelf list describes the contents of each box individually. Preceding the shelf lists are background sketches of the donors, detailing their major contributions to the field of adult education, followed by descriptions of the organization and types of materials. For the most part, the printed documents consist of correspondence, organizational records, publication files, reports, speeches, and writings. Recorded tapes are also included in the collection. The oldest materials are dated 1924. As further materials are processed, the inventories will be updated. The twenty-four donors represented in this catalog are as follow: Adult Education Association, Adult Education Research Conference, American Foundation for Continuing Education, Association of University Evening Colleges, Center for the Study of Liberal Education for Adults, Alexander N.
