| contents | The 1979 Directory of Library Systems in New York State with Listings Current as of November 1978. Directories Institutional Libraries Library Networks Maps Public Libraries Compiled from information supplied by directors of the systems and State departments or agencies administering library programs, this directory provides listings that are current through November 1, 1978. The listings are arranged regionally and alphabetically by the names of the specific reference and research library resources systems to which the library systems belong. In each section directory information appears for (1) the reference and research library system, (2) the several public library systems in it, and (3) the State institution branches having libraries in the region. Locations for systems can be identified by using the table of contents or maps. Basic information for each type of library system is presented in a generally parallel format that provides the name of the director, address of the system, telephone and teletype numbers, year of establishment, names of principal staff, name of the president of the system board of trustees, the name of each county participating in the system, and the number of member libraries. Addresses are also given for all member institutions and libraries. (Author) |
