Background Change Strategies Conference Reports Libraries Library Services Participant Characteristics Program Descriptions The highlights of the 1978 Ohio White House Conference on Library and Information Services are presented in this report. Brief sections describe pre-conference activities and the democratic processes of the conference, and summaries of the presentations indicate the major issues addressed at the meeting. Conference recommendations, listed under the specific speeches to which they relate, are collected and presented under six headings: (1) basic library and information services, (2) special services to special groups, (3) increasing awareness of library services, (4) technology, (5) library networks, and (6) library facilities and staff. The citizen and library-related delegates who were elected at the conference to represent Ohio at the national White House Conference in October 1979 are identified, and their library-related activities and interests are sketched. Lists of alternate delegates, advisory committee members, and conference participants are also included. (JD)
