- Alaska Conference on Library and Information Services: An Evaluation. Dalton, Phyllis I. Bibliographies Conferences Evaluation Criteria Evaluation Methods Information Services Library Services Objectives Program Descriptions State Programs Based on the author's observation of the activities of this pre-White House Conference on Library and Information Services and a synthesis of the reactions of the conference delegates, this evaluation assesses the extent to which this conference, held in Juneau on March 8-9, 1979, met its own objectives. A discussion of library and information services in Alaska provides the reader with background for the conference. Evaluation goals and procedures are presented, as well as a statement of the goals and objectives of The White House Conference on Library and Information Services and the Alaska conference. The attainment of stated objectives, measured by responses to a participant evaluation questionnaire, is evaluated and followed by a summary of participant comments. A discussion of the success of the conference by seven additional criteria, conclusions, and recommendations conclude the report; appendices include the evaluation questionnaire (tabulated), examples of conference recommendations, and selected references.
