The projects reflect the efforts being made by librarians to provide services to segments of their population who had never been served, or who had been inadequately served, and include direct information service; outreach services for special children; books on wheels--library service to shut-ins; HELP--helping the elderly to library participation; initiation of a collection of library-produced career guidance videotapes; consolidation program--children's facilities and programs phase; Dr. Hatfield project for learning disabled children and their parents; how-to-do-it information on videotapes; library loanable materials for physically and visually handicapped adults; Flint minibookmobile; expansion of media service to all user groups, particularly the elderly; a video artist in residence; a business of your own--materials for the small business person and the working public; bookmobile service to the underserved; artist in residence; and a library service center for the hearing impaired.
