  • Seminar on Bibliotherapy. Proceedings of Sessions, June 21-23, 1978 in Madison, Wisconsin. Monroe, Margaret E., Ed. Bibliotherapy Conference Reports Guidelines Individual Development Librarians Literature Programs Older Adults Program Descriptions Psychologists Psychotherapy Speeches These seven papers and the summary of discussion that accompanied their presentation represent the proceedings of a seminar on bibliotherapy conducted by the Library School of the University of Wisconsin. The papers were designed to distinguish the role of psychotherapist from that of librarian or educator in the bibliotherapeutic process, and to develop a clearer picture of the relationship of mental health professionals and librarians/educators in the theory and practice of bibliotherapy. Topics were chosen to probe the bibliotherapeutic process in general, and its application to older adults in particular. The papers are presented as available to the workshop participants, followed by summaries of the oral presentations. A brief topical summation of the discussion of the paper and oral presentation constitute a third section for each topic. The final chapter summarizes the substance of discussion that ran throughout the three-day session. Appendices include a list of the participants, guidelines for book analysis, and an orientation to the bibliotherapeutic process for librarians. (Author/CMV)
