Alderman, Alice Abbreviations Cataloging Classification Government Publications Guides Devised for the classification of the documents of all the states and territories and Canadian provinces, of Wisconsin county and municipal publications, and of documents which derive from interstate compacts, this guide outlines a cataloging procedure and a classification scheme that can be expanded to apply to the documents of other countries and the publications of private firms and institutions. Sections are devoted to cataloging, location symbols, classification by call number, outline of agency records (Schellenberg theory), outline of classification scheme, agency codes, and advantages of the scheme.
