And Others Audiovisual Aids Bibliographies Check Lists Guides Library Services Photographs Storage This form, initially developed from information gathered in an extensive literature search on the subject of storage and care of non-book materials, was designed to assist librarians in evaluating the quality of their storage and care practices for photographs and negatives. The form was field-tested for value and usability in 20 selected institutions representing a variety of types of library situations. Twenty-eight non-book authorities were also sent copies of the form and asked to make recommendations. Forms developed for other media formats--film, tape, maps, microforms, original art, and phonorecords--are listed, as well as sources for rental of related slide tape productions. A rationale for a storage and care program is detailed and recommendations are made. An extensive bibliography on the care of photographs and negatives and a miscellaneous bibliography on non-book materials are included. (JEG)
