Art Products Bibliographies Discographies History Literature Mass Media Modern History Music Music Appreciation Music Education Musicians Popular Culture The bibliography lists over 400 works in the California State University Library, Sacramento, on pop, rock, country, folk, blues, and soul music from 1950 to the present. Books, periodicals, and non-book materials noted in the bibliography are appropriate for history, communication studies, and popular culture studies as well as for music. Items are divided into six categories: reference works such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, discographies, record reviews, and record charts; periodicals; history and criticism including individual artist and group biographies; literature by artists; songbooks; and literature on the music industry, album cover art, and on becoming a rock and roll star. Entries are listed alphabetically by author within each section and Library of Congress numbers are provided. An individual artist and group index concludes the document. (KC)
