Females History Librarians Local History Research Libraries Special Libraries This historical consideration of the role of women librarians in three Dayton special libraries centers on three figures: (1) Caroline W. Lutz, librarian of the General Motors Research Corporation from 1922 to 1956; (2) Hope Thomas, head librarian of the United States Air Force McCook Field Library in the mid-1940's; and (3l Emma Wedenbine, librarian of the National Cash Register Company Library from 1934 to 1964. Their careers are outlined and compared, and some historical background on their respective institutions is given. Sources for the chronology and an epilogue on historical research methodology are provided. (FM)
