The master's programs are described individually. Included are brief descriptions of the beginnings of library education in Latin America and library development in Brazil. Appendices provide organizational charts of library-related institutions, statistical data on school programs, a listing of courses required in both the undergraduate and graduate programs at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, a directory of schools/departments/faculties of library science and documentation, and a lengthy bibliography.
