The subject matter is wide and varied, offering materials on history, geography, the environment, folklore, literature, social issues, past and present, and the people. Briefly annotated to clarify nondescriptive titles, this single listing of print and nonprint materials includes films, filmstrips, slides, transparencies, pamphlets, maps, realia, records, and reel and cassette recordings. Fictional and nonfictional treatments are noted as well as suitability for grade levels; some out of print titles are listed and so noted. Not included due to space limitations are some biographies of historical figures such as Burr, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Lafayette, Pitcher, Washington, Wayne, and Witherspoon, and local histories. A list of sources is appended to help locate elusive titles. (RAA)
