The collection of selected materials is designed to help elementary, secondary, and college teachers gain a greater understanding of the ethnic experience in the United States. Some of the items may also be used with senior high school students. Some materials deal with ethnicity in general and others with specific ethnic groups. Essays, anthologies, research studies, tips for teaching, folklore, and primary source materials are included. The annotations are both descriptive and evaluative and include suggestions for the use of the materials. To educators in Michigan, the materials are available through the Southeast Michigan Regional Ethnic Heritage Studies Center. (Author/RM) |
