- The 1980 Directory of Library Systems in New York State with Listings Current as of December 1979. County Libraries Library Networks Public Libraries School Libraries State Libraries This is the 1980 edition of a directory to library systems and their member libraries in New York State compiled from information supplied by directors of the systems and state departments or agencies administering library programs. Listings are arranged regionally and alphabetically by the name of the Reference and Research Library Resources Systems designation. In each section of this part of the directory there is full information for (1) the Reference and Research Library System; (2) the several public library systems; and (3) state institution branches which may have libraries. Basic information for each type of library system includes the name of the director, address of the system, telephone and teletype numbers, year of establishment, names of principal staff, name of the president of the board of trustees, names of participating counties, and number of member libraries. Addresses and telephone numbers are provided for all member institutions and libraries. For the first time, the directory also includes information on pilot projects established in 1979 pursuant to newly created provisions of state law. Maps are provided throughout. (RAA)
