Workshop planning groups are described and suggestions for membership are provided. Program planning includes needs assessment, preparation of workshop objectives, audience definition, choice of site and time, presentation techniques, selection of equipment and materials, selection of speakers, budget allocation, preparation of bibliographies and other handouts, preparation of displays, public relations arrangements, construction of the agenda, and registration procedures. Suggestions are given to insure smooth operation during the actual conduct of the workshop and evaluative procedures are described to sum up and close workshop activities. A source list of eight references is provided. (RAA)
