A brief annotation accompanying each entry contains information on quality of paper and binding, subject matter emphasis, juvenile or adult emphasis, availability of catalog, costs and discounts, and types of print and non-print materials available (books, filmstrips, posters, periodicals, etc.). Annotations for Mexican and Spanish firms note availability of materials through U.S. distributors. Some publishers and distributors included in the directory handle literature of several ethnic groups, including American Indians. The preface provides suggestions for selecting and ordering Spanish language materials. (JH)
