A flow chart of the information searching process and a list of sections of the Library of Congress classification system that pertain to education are included. An annotated list of sources essential to conducting a literature search in education is organized according to a recommended systematic approach to the research process. Among the types of sources listed are: work in progress, unpublished studies, indexing and abstracting services (including ERIC and Psychological Abstracts), and bibliographic guides. Categories include abstracts, computerized retrieval sources, convention papers, dictionaries, dissertations, government documents, periodicals, and research projects, among others. (SW)
