Part 1 outlines the policies and procedures for state accreditation as required by state law. These cover accreditation standards, expenses, consultants, institution's request for accreditation, institutional self-study, statistical information, examination visit, purpose of the examination, the examiner's report and recommendation, the institutional hearing, institution's possible withdrawal of request, state regents' action, certificate of accreditation, review of accredited institutions, and annual reporting requirements. Part 2 contains procedures for institutional evaluation, organized around 10 functional areas of institutional concern: (1) philosophy and purposes; (2) control of administration; (3) faculty; (4) students; (5) finances; (6) physical plant; (7) educational program; (8) library; (9) extension and community service; (10) auxiliary activities. Part 3 describes procedures for the establishment of new institutions at all levels of higher education and in both public and private sectors. Appended are the definitions and scopes of various institution types as outlined in Oklahoma state law. (MSE)
