  • Wisconsin Summer Library Program Manual: All Creatures Great and Small. 1980. Kreigh, Helen, Comp. Animals Elementary School Students Library Materials Library Services Public Libraries Reading Materials Recreational Reading Summer Programs Young Children This summer library program for preschool and elementary school children centers around animals of all kinds. Published as an aid to librarians in implementing the program, the manual is made available along with such theme related items as posters, balloons, reading record folders, certificates, and bookmarks. Initial sections identify and expand the theme, provide administrative data, promotional guidance, and ideas for library decoration, as well as suggestions for projects and events. Resources include listings of performing artists describing their specialities with directory and fee information, and the names and addresses of non-profit performing arts coordinating agencies. Audiovisual materials--16mm films, filmstrips, and recordings--are annotated and information for ordering is provided. Printed materials are represented in sections entitled Picture Books, Tales to Tell, and Creative Drama Guides. The manual concludes with an annotated bibliography based on the overall theme, "All Creatures Great and Small." (RAA)
