Accreditation (Institutions) Accrediting Agencies Curriculum Evaluation Evaluation Methods Guides Higher Education Library Education Library Schools Program Evaluation Standards A standard requirement of the accreditation process, the Self-Study Report prepared by requesting library schools, is necessary documentation for the accreditation request and possible site visit by the Committee on Accreditation of the American Library Association. This guide presents the detailed procedures for accomplishment of this study. The report on the study opens with a coversheet containing official data for the program seeking accreditation and a standard declaration, followed by a 7-part document consisting of an introductory statement and a section for each of six ALA standards. The introductory statement includes a brief historical background of the institution and its library education program together with a description of the procedures followed in organizing and conducting the self-study. Within each of the sections are two subsections, one providing descriptive and statistical data, the other incorporating the results of the self-study deliberations. (RAA)
