Heinich, Robert Audiovisual Aids Budgeting Cataloging Educational Media Library Circulation Nonprint Media Public Schools School Surveys Statistical Surveys This report presents responses to a questionnaire regarding circulation of educational media in public schools from 76 school districts, 42 counties, and 57 regional and cooperative agencies, with a special section on controversial materials. The survey presents budgeting information by sources; profiles of collections; circulation of videotapes; catalog organization; information supplied by agency catalogs; catalog annotations and their content, sources, and revisions; catalog contents, subject classification, revision, and distribution; and the use of common computer bases for catalog generation. Responses to questions on controversial materials cover administrative approval, separate cataloging, challenges to collections, frequency of challenged items, and geographic distribution of challenges.
