Academic Libraries Annual Reports Budgets Library Administration Library Associations Library Education Library Planning Management Development Research Libraries Self Evaluation (Groups) This annual report reviews the activities of the ARL Office of Management Studies. Highlights of 1979 included: (1) implementation of academic library program self-studies; (2) four studies by the Collection Analysis Project; (3) completion of one management review and analysis program and initiation of another; (4) utilization of the Organizational Screening Program by two university libraries; (5) initiation of the Planning Program for Small Academic Libraries at seven libraries; (6) distribution of 5,000 Systems and Procedures Exchange Center kits; (7) operation of three institutes and 31 workshops by the Organizational Training and Staff Development Program; (8) training of 20 librarians by the Academic Consultant Training Program; (9) receipt of a $151,924 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities for preservation studies; and (10) an overall assessment of OMS programs. Priorities for 1980 focus on preservation and self-study procedures. Budget figures and a bibliography of management studies are included. (RAA)
