A discussion of some of the advantages and disadvantages of working at foreign universities includes personal impressions of cultural opportunities and differences, historical and cultural sites visited, attitudes of Iranians toward Americans and Europeans, the impact of political unrest and demonstrations, and the cost of living for visiting faculty and their families.
