Audiovisual Aids College Instruction Community Colleges Educational Research Faculty Development Inservice Teacher Education Instructional Development Professional Development Resource Centers Teacher Improvement Two Year Colleges This manual outlines the services and resources available at Lord Fairfax Community College's College Teaching Center for persons interested in establishing, maintaining, and improving their knowledge and skill as college teachers. First, the functions of the Center are discussed and schematically displayed, especially with regard to facilitating the study of college teaching, providing faculty development support, promoting college teaching action research, and assisting in clinical instructional development. The manual then provides a selected and annotated bibliography of twelve books on the fundamentals of college teaching. It goes on to describe Dissertation Abstracts International and the Educational Resources Information Center as two special tools for research. The inventory next provides the titles of several types of audio-visual programs for faculty development which focus on concepts and skills related to systematic curriculum and instruction. The bulk of the manual is comprised of an inventory, by Library of Congress Classification Number of the print and non-print holdings of the Center. Finally, the college's Faculty and Staff Development Policy is presented. (AYC)
