It provides specific recommendations for the form of the catalog, changes in operating routine, the organization of the cataloging department, authority control (including links), and serials. Appendices include a comparison of AACR1 and AACR2 cataloging rules; reviews of main cards, subject cards, and periodical records requiring change; and reports on the effects of AACR2 on rare books, music, non-roman alphabets, serial cataloging, and authority and linkage work.
