Students are introduced to the physical facilities of the card catalog, reference and circulation desks; become acquainted with learning materials in their various formats; are instructed in the use of the divided catalog and periodical indexes; and become familiar with the library control system. An evaluation system provides a measurement of the effect of library instruction on the attitude and skill level of the students. Appendices include descriptions of the course; library hours, services, and floor plans; questionnaires; instructional exercises; lecture outlines; evaluation results; and a self-guided tour. (RAA) |
