Titles of over 900 resources, many published since 1960, are listed. Books are listed in three main sections, one each for Indians, Inuits, and Metis. Within these main sections, citations are organized by subject matter (arts, biography, contemporary material, culture groups, education, historical materials, literature, native languages, religion and mythology). The citations generally include the Department of Education Library call number, author, title, publication data, annotation, and appropriate grade level. Vertical file materials, kits, pictures, jackdaws, phonodiscs and phonotapes, audio and video tapes, and 16mm. films are listed in separate sections, each with ordering instructions. Organized by Indian, Inuit, or Metis subject matter, these citations include catalog number, title, author, annotation, time, and appropriate grade level. Alphabetical listings of periodical and bibliographic materials are not annotated. Also included are a section on using ERIC information, a glossary of terms used in the annotations, an index, and criteria for evaluating bias, especially useful since some materials listed contain negative biases.
