contents Planning Information Manpower. Havard-Williams, P. Franz, E. G. Archives Curriculum Development Developing Nations Educational Planning Information Science Labor Force Development Library Education Library Science Standards These two papers, one on information and library science personnel, the other on archival personnel, argue that trained professionals are the key to modern information processing, and discuss the needs of developing nations for information about training and education agencies, international exchanges of personnel, and for internationally recognized standards. They also describe the current state of manpower resources, personnel structures, and existing education and training, and make recommendations on core curricula, programs and facilities, and personnel recruitment and qualifications. Tables and appendices display the personnel structures and curricula, and there is a list of general recommendations developed at a 1974 meeting of archivists, librarians, and documentalists. Two bibliographies provide 23 and 24 references respectively. (RAA)
