The tasks, functions, and roles of archivists in government and business environments are explored, and two modes of training--one based on history-related disciplines, the other based on records management--are examined. Suggestions for the standardization of archivist education programs include curriculum guidelines and two suggested programs of study. Supporting materials are appended. (FM)
