Ladd, Boyd Academic Libraries Elementary Secondary Education Learning Resources Centers Library Collections Library Expenditures Library Facilities Library Personnel Needs Assessment Public Libraries School Libraries Tables (Data) This report presents statistics concerning the resource needs of public libraries, public school library/media centers, and academic libraries in the state of Illinois. The specific resources analyzed are professional and support staff; collections and acquisitions of print and nonprint materials; space; hours of service; and operating expenditures. Data are derived from regular reports by the public libraries to the State Library, from reports by a sample of public schools to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) 1973 school library/media center survey, and from reports by institutions of higher education to the NCES 1975 survey of college and university libraries. Each category of resource need is summarized across the three library types, the library situation in Illinois in 1975 is summarized, and key findings are highlighted. Tables display the data. (FM)
