  • A Handbook for Systematic Evaluation in ESEA Title IV-B. Zachos, Paul Educational Resources Evaluation Methods Federal Aid Federal Programs Guidelines Models Private Schools Program Evaluation School Districts School Libraries Based on a survey of individuals responsible for Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Title IV-B evaluations at the local level and an examination of IV-B applications, this handbook has been prepared to provide assistance to New York school districts and nonprofit private schools in the coordination and evaluation of school library and learning resources sub-projects. The content and organization allow the inexperienced individual to sequentially approach the text and the reader with more familiarity to select only those topics relevant to his needs. The handbook contains a discussion of some of the problems related to IV-B evaluations, an introduction to basic principles of education evaluation, a typology to assist in determination of evaluation appropriate to a given sub-project, an outline of steps to follow in planning the evaluation, and a review and sampling of evaluation procedures particularly relevant to IV-B sub-projects. Suggestions for selecting from commercially produced instruments are appended and a bibliography lists nine publications. (RAA)
