The papers address concerns of language; literacy; translation; the state of international and indigenous publishing; the problems involved in exporting, importing, and distributing books and other printed materials; copyright; the influence of the news media; and the part played by international organizations such as UNESCO in promoting the international flow of information. Biographical sketches and the brief last day remarks of the librarians, journalists, and government officials in attendance follow the presentations. (RAA) |
