The guide is correlated with the "Conceptual Framework for Consumer and Homemaking Education in Texas." Content is based on the competencies needed by homemakers in the area of family living and parenthood, with terminal performance objectives identified for each competency. Content is developed through learning and evaluation experiences. The guide contains experiences for seventh and eighth grade homemaking; Homemaking I, II, III; and a semester course. Competencies and corresponding terminal performance objectives are listed at the beginning of each section. Concepts related to the competencies are outlined in the left columns of the guide, while learning and evaluation experiences to develop the competencies are listed in the right columns. Appendixes to the guide include transparency masters keyed to learning and evaluation experiences, and a reference list of books and sources of teaching aids which will assist the teacher in developing a reference library.
