The topics covered in particular sections of the report are levels of evaluation, the nature and role of evaluation in education, approaches to evaluation in education, techniques for measuring reaction, learning acquired, and educational program results. The evaluation of specific educational activities and the design of evaluation instruments are also discussed in detail. Accompanying the text are ten tables, two figures, a 46-item reference list, and seven appendices. Among the appendices are a selective bibliography on evaluation in education, examples of questionnaires used in formative and summative evaluation of courses or workshops, a report on the eleventh annual clinic on library applications of data processing, and an example of an educational evaluation checklist for use by an independent observer of a particular activity.
