Moon, Michael And Others Check Lists Elementary Secondary Education Females Instructional Improvement Resource Materials Sex Bias Sex Fairness Sex Role Textbook Evaluation Womens Studies This guide is intended to help local school districts identify resources for combating the adverse effects of sex bias and sex-role stereotyping in the existing curriculum. Included in the guide is a chronology of the contributions of selected American women that may be missing from traditional sources. A brief guide to identifying bias and stereotyping in textbooks and curriculum materials is provided for use with more specific locally developed checklists. The publication concludes with a listing of resources to assist the classroom teacher with identifying non-sexist materials. Cited are publications, journals and newsletters, resource centers, special library collections, audiovisual resources, book distributors and presses, and agencies and organizations. (RM)
