Ecology Elementary Secondary Education Environment Environmental Education Interdisciplinary Approach Learning Activities Power Technology Social Studies Utilities Water Resources Following a test and answer sheet for pretesting/posttesting purposes related to the film "Raindrops" (focusing on the ecology of, and electric development along, the banks of North Carolina's Catawba River), seven activities are outlined as possibilities for helping students gain a fuller understanding of the river and its development. The content area emphasized, objective, and instructional strategies are provided for each activity. Materials required (maps, charts, puzzles, worksheets) are included as part of the activity or call for use of readily available library sources such as the "World Almanac." Five suggestions for further enhancing the study of the Catawba River and answers to questions are also included. (Author/JN)
