The background of the project is briefly described, the purpose and adminstration of the post-questionnaire interviews are outlined, and pilot data collection activities are reviewed. The procedures of both the pilot data collection and the pilot data analysis phases of the project are then discussed. Two data tables accompany the text. Among the eight appendices to the report are guidelines for conducting post-questionnaire interviews, library catalog user and nonuser interview schedules, lists of user and nonuser questionnaire problems, the pilot test data collection manual, and the actual study data collection manual.
