Chemistry Foreign Countries Item Banks Multiple Choice Tests Science Tests Secondary Education Secondary School Science Test Construction Test Items As one in a series of test item collections developed by the Assessment and Evaluation Unit of the Directorate of Studies, items are made available to teachers for the construction of unit tests or term examinations or as a basis for class discussion. Each collection was reviewed for content validity and reliability. The test items meet syllabus content and aims best suited to multiple choice questions, but teachers are meant to base the use of the test items on student ability and the particular program objectives in grades 7 through 10. The test items in chemistry are presented in categories including states of matter, atomic structure and elements, separations and mixtures, and solutions. Further sections concern acids and bases, chemical indicators and pH. The activity series of metals, electrochemistry, formulas and equations, and general chemistry test items complete the volume. There are 336 test items. Answers are provided with each item, with drawings and diagrams illustrating many questions. (CM)
